CLP helping get out the vote!

When someone asks you to help them get out the vote, what is the first thing you do?  Do you answer yes, jump right in and start knocking on doors?  This isn't so with the CLP group.  When asked to knock on doors and let residents know where their polling location was and offer assitance to get there.  It was decided that the way of doing things needed a little Googliness.  So they were showed how to use forms to automatically capture data and store it without having to touch the names and addresses multiple times.  They were even shown how to optimize how they were collecting data and be more flexible.

What was the result from this quick lesson?  Instantaneous data being seen by volunteer organizers who were able to make decisions that eliminated the need for multiple passes.  They were able to root out:

  • Abandoned homes
  • Voters who moved or passed on
  • Those whose religion was against voting
  • And many more
This allowed them to focus on a more targeted area without these barriers and we covered more space than before!

CLP does it again!
